HUGE Disappointment - Not the way I saw the day going
After having a less than successful week last week, though to be fair had the DQ and photo gone the other way I'd be singing a different tune, I was CERTAIN that today was a big day. If not in profits, in winning. Trainer Todd Pletcher had three runners today who all looked EASILY best. And sure enough, in the first race of the day Chee surged by in the stretch and won going away.
I then headed out to see the big ones......and went 0-for for the day. El Padrino was second, and what bothered me most was that it seemed to me that he really wasn't being asked for his best. It would have been one thing if he'd been out of the race, but he was within a length of the leader through the stretch.....and that horse had not been to the races in fifteen months! Very disappointing day. Back at it tomorrow and I have a couple of "big bets" on the Thursday card - and am MOST hopeful of a bounce-back day......
